This Privacy Policy explains what information the Koi Pond Discord application (“Koi Pond,” “the bot,” “we,” “us,” or “the service”) accesses, collects, stores, uses, and shares when you interact with Koi Pond.

Koi Pond is an independent community project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Discord Inc.

1. Information Koi Pond Collects

Koi Pond collects and stores only information reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve its gameplay and server features.

Discord Account and Server Information

Koi Pond may process or store:

• Discord user IDs
• Discord server (guild) IDs
• Discord channel IDs
• Discord role IDs used for notification settings
• Discord message IDs used to identify and update registered Koi Pond panels
• Usernames, display names, mentions, or similar Discord profile information when needed to display game features

Discord IDs are numerical identifiers used to associate saved game data and settings with the correct user, server, channel, role, or message.

Gameplay Information

Koi Pond may store gameplay data associated with a Discord user or server, including:

• Pond Coin balances
• Feeding activity and feeding statistics
• Feeding timestamps and cooldown information
• Koi collections and collectible ownership
• Favorite koi selections
• Virtual items and upgrades
• Active or stored item effects
• Server-wide buffs and boosts
• Communal Bowl contributions
• Pond progress, level, and total feedings
• Pond creation timestamps
• Custom pond names
• Pond themes
• Leaderboard statistics
• Event participation
• Limited or special reward claims
• Beta participation and historical beta reward claims
• Other gameplay state necessary to operate Koi Pond

Server Configuration Information

Koi Pond may store server-specific configuration information, including:

• Whether feed-ready notifications are enabled
• The configured notification role ID
• The configured notification channel ID
• The selected pond theme
• Registered pond panel channel and message IDs
• Other settings chosen by server administrators

2. How Information Is Used

Koi Pond uses collected information only as necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service.

This includes:

• Saving gameplay progress
• Associating data with the correct Discord user or server
• Managing Pond Coins, koi collections, items, and upgrades
• Operating shared server ponds
• Tracking pond progression
• Enforcing feeding cooldowns and gameplay limits
• Processing duplicate koi rewards
• Providing personal statistics
• Providing server and global leaderboards
• Operating minigames and gameplay rewards
• Operating the Communal Bowl and server-wide boosts
• Delivering feed-ready notifications configured by server administrators
• Updating registered pond panels
• Applying server customization settings
• Preventing duplicate reward claims
• Preventing abuse, exploitation, or manipulation of gameplay systems
• Diagnosing bugs, outages, and technical problems
• Maintaining and improving Koi Pond

Koi Pond does not use Discord API data to build advertising profiles or make decisions about employment, housing, insurance, credit, or similar eligibility matters.

3. Discord Message Content

Koi Pond primarily operates through Discord application commands, buttons, menus, and other Discord interactions.

Koi Pond does not intentionally collect or store the ordinary content of unrelated Discord conversations as part of its gameplay systems.

Koi Pond does not use Discord message content for advertising, behavioral profiling, or training artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

Commands, button presses, selections, and other information that you intentionally submit to Koi Pond may be processed as necessary to perform the requested action.

If Koi Pond’s use of message content materially changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated.

4. Information Visible to Other Users

Some gameplay information is intentionally displayed to other Discord users as part of Koi Pond’s features.

This may include:

• Discord usernames, display names, or mentions
• Pond names
• Pond levels and total feedings
• Leaderboard rankings
• Feeding activity
• Favorite koi
• Koi catches or collections when displayed through game features
• Other information intentionally shown through public Koi Pond interactions

Private or ephemeral interactions may still be processed by Koi Pond even when they are not visible to other server members.

5. Sharing of Information

Koi Pond does not sell, rent, license, or provide personal information or Discord API data to advertisers, advertising networks, or data brokers.

Information may be processed by third-party service providers only when reasonably necessary to operate Koi Pond, including:

• Discord
• Hosting or infrastructure providers
• Other technical service providers necessary to operate or secure the service

These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to:

• Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
• Protect the security or integrity of Koi Pond
• Investigate fraud, abuse, exploitation, or security incidents
• Protect the rights, safety, or property of Koi Pond, its users, or others

6. Data Storage and Security

Koi Pond gameplay and configuration data is stored on infrastructure used to operate the service.

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect stored information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, disclosure, or misuse.

No online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

If a security incident involving user information occurs, Koi Pond will take reasonable steps to investigate, mitigate, and provide any notifications required by applicable law or Discord’s developer requirements.

7. Data Retention

Koi Pond retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide its features, preserve legitimate gameplay progress, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.

Gameplay information may remain stored while a user or server continues to use Koi Pond.

Information that is no longer reasonably necessary for Koi Pond’s functionality may be deleted or anonymized.

Koi Pond may also delete information when:

• A user requests deletion of their data
• An authorized server administrator requests deletion of applicable server data
• Discord requests deletion of applicable API data
• Retention is no longer necessary for Koi Pond’s operation
• Koi Pond permanently discontinues the relevant service

Backups may temporarily contain previously deleted information until those backups are overwritten, rotated, or expire.

Minimal records may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or enforcement of Koi Pond’s Terms of Service.

8. Data Access, Correction, and Deletion Requests

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of data associated with your Discord account by contacting the Koi Pond developer through the official Koi Pond community/support server.

Server owners or administrators may also request deletion or correction of applicable data associated with their Discord server.

Requests should include enough information to identify the relevant Discord account or server.

Additional verification may be requested when reasonably necessary to ensure that the requester is authorized to make the request.

Koi Pond will make reasonable efforts to process valid requests promptly and in accordance with applicable law and Discord’s developer requirements.

Some limited information may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement of the Koi Pond Terms of Service.

9. Children’s Privacy

Koi Pond is intended only for individuals who are permitted to use Discord under Discord’s applicable Terms of Service and minimum-age requirements.

Koi Pond is not intended for children who are below Discord’s applicable minimum age or any higher minimum age required by law in their jurisdiction.

Koi Pond does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from individuals who are not permitted to use Discord.

If Koi Pond becomes aware that prohibited information has been collected from such an individual, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it.

10. Third-Party Services

Koi Pond operates through Discord and relies on Discord’s services and APIs.

Use of Discord itself is governed separately by Discord’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Koi Pond may also rely on hosting, infrastructure, or technical service providers necessary to operate and secure the service.

This Privacy Policy applies only to Koi Pond’s own processing of information and does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party services.

11. International Users

Koi Pond may be accessed by users in different countries.

Information may therefore be processed or stored in a jurisdiction different from the one in which a user resides.

Where required by applicable law, Koi Pond will handle personal information in accordance with applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Koi Pond changes its features, data practices, infrastructure, legal obligations, or security practices.

Material changes may be communicated through the Koi Pond community or other appropriate channels.

The Last Updated date at the top of this document identifies the most recent revision.

Continued use of Koi Pond after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective does not waive any rights users may have under applicable law.
